CONDITIONS OF ENROLLMENT

Failure to comply with the conditions below (Academic Integrity, Satisfactory Educational Progress, Academic Progress, and School Policies) are grounds for being place on probationary status. All new students in our school are enrolled on probationary status.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY:

Learning Post Academy consistently upholds the William S. Hart Union High School District Board Policy on Academic Integrity.  The LPA Academic Integrity Policy details are available on the school website.

SATISFACTORY EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS:

Satisfactory educational progress is determined by student engagement, attendance, successful completion of assignments, and achievement as well as learning required concepts, progressing toward successful completion of the course of study or an individual class, as determined by the supervising teacher.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS

We understand that teachers are required to report and communicate the student’s academic progress, as well as coordinating Tiered Reengagement strategies for the student when necessary.  If the student falls below the level of satisfactory educational progress noted above, an evaluation will be conducted to determine whether the student should remain in Independent Study or return to the regular school program.  Students’ progress will be evaluated after each attendance period.  Students can be released from Learning Post Academy at any time.

LPA SCHOOL POLICIES

  • Email and phone calls are LPA’s primary mode of communication; therefore, Families must respond to all emails or phone calls from Learning Post Academy staff within a reasonable amount of time, typically within 1 or 2 days.
  • Students who have Dual Enrollment at a comprehensive site are expected to attend classes on a regular basis and to complete all assignments to the best of their ability. In order to maintain dual enrollment eligibility, students must maintain satisfactory educational progress. LPA staff will carefully monitor and communicate behavioral and attendance concerns with the assigned comprehensive school site. The site administration at both LPA and the comprehensive school reserves the authority to remove the student from Dual Enrollment.
  • Student athletes must maintain athletic eligibility to participate in athletics at their comprehensive school site.
  • Students will be awarded variable credits in each class proportionate to work completed. Written assignments, tests, and finals may be required to earn full credits or complete the remaining credits in a class. LPA’s complete variable credit policy can be found on the school website.

*Parent/Student agrees to be in full compliance with the William S. Hart Union High School District Students Rights and Responsibilities summary. These can be found on the William S. Hart UHSD website.
