Attendance Policy
Students attending LPA are required to complete school work in their classes each school day. Students earn days of attendance by completing the daily equivalent amount of schoolwork. Unearned days of attendance are recorded as unexcused absences since there are no excused absences awarded through independent study. Students have the flexibility within each attendance period to catch up on missing assignments. Because independent study students need only complete the equivalent of a minimum day of school work to receive full attendance, earning full attendance does not guarantee the student earning enough high school credits to graduate on time. IS students are expected to complete the equivalent amount of schoolwork as students on the comprehensive school campus.
Learning Post Academy complies with all State policies and procedures regarding Tiered Re-engagement strategies for all students who are not making satisfactory educational progress (generating attendance for at least 90 percent of required minimum instructional time over a period of four continuous weeks) determined by their supervising teacher.
