Learning Post Academy (LPA) is the William S. Hart Union High School District’s premier personalized virtual learning program, serving students in grades 7-12 for more than 40 years. As a WASC-accredited and NCAA-approved school, LPA offers A-G approved, Honors, and AP coursework equivalent to the district’s comprehensive high schools while providing the flexibility of a modern, student-centered learning experience.

Located on the Hart High School campus, Learning Post Academy combines the flexibility of online learning with the support of an in-person school community. Through our partnership with Edgenuity, students have access to rigorous, standards-based curriculum anytime and anywhere, allowing them to learn at their own pace while receiving individualized guidance from credentialed teachers.

A Personalized Learning Experience

Every student begins their LPA journey with an orientation and develops an individualized learning plan with a supervising teacher. Students meet regularly with their teacher to:

  • Receive academic support and feedback
  • Monitor progress and set goals
  • Submit assignments and complete assessments
  • Review pacing and graduation requirements
  • Access intervention and enrichment opportunities

Students are encouraged to utilize our on-campus classrooms, workstations, computers, printers, and instructional resources whenever additional support is needed.

Flexible Learning Designed for Today’s Students

LPA’s virtual learning model allows students to personalize their educational experience while balancing academics with athletics, extracurricular activities, employment, family responsibilities, medical needs, or other personal pursuits. Students progress through coursework based on demonstrated learning and mastery, providing the flexibility to move at a pace that meets their individual needs.

A Flexible Path to Success

LPA operates on a variable credit system, meaning students earn credits as courses are completed. Once a course is finished, credits are immediately posted to the transcript, allowing students to move directly into their next course.

This model benefits students who:

  • Need to recover credits and stay on track for graduation
  • Want to accelerate their coursework and graduate early
  • Thrive in a flexible, self-paced learning environment
  • Need a personalized approach that fits their unique circumstances

Expanded Opportunities

Students may choose to participate in programs at their residence-area school while remaining enrolled at Learning Post Academy. Depending on space availability, students may access opportunities such as:

  • Athletics and CIF sports
  • Band, Choir, Dance, and High School TV
  • Specialized electives and campus activities
  • Additional academic experiences and student programs

LPA students also have access to Honors, AP, and world language courses, as well as dual enrollment opportunities through the College of the Canyons beginning in 11th grade.

College and Career Ready

Our academic counselor works closely with students and families to develop individualized educational plans and ensure students remain on track for graduation, college admission, and future career goals. Through personalized guidance and ongoing support, students develop the skills, independence, and confidence needed for success beyond high school.

A Community That Knows Every Student

One of the hallmarks of Learning Post Academy is our strong sense of community. Our smaller learning environment allows staff to build meaningful relationships with students and families, providing individualized support and celebrating each student’s unique journey.

At Learning Post Academy, virtual learning meets personalized support, creating a flexible, connected, and innovative educational experience where every student can thrive.
