and the alarm this is David Mann is our office manager over a few people that are working in the office roast small small school and we hope to grow up and be a place to offer online 31st units let me get started so I'm as I said I'm really applying principal on a lot of the other people will get a chance to meet and talk to people for question if you have a really specific questions regarding Learning Academy is not distance learning so what your child experience this fall and this school year it is not distance learning your child is not going to the zoom room at an assigned time is a teacher they do not have a set it is nothing like what your children experience in distance learning we are part of a Independent Learning School we're part of the California conversion for independent study which operates very differently than what we did this. last year I will be dead when a response to covid and the Blended learning model it's completely different your child will not be sitting in a steam room at an assigned time with a teacher the learning post Academy we serve grade 7 through 12 so if you are entering grade 7 or if you are up to the age of a senior our school we are walking to credited unseat a a food that has School site will offer in terms of the courses and there are certain classes that we we if we don't have it that can also be offered at the comprehensive site so we don't have every single course because as you know Pacific Science Program they have a good marine biology we are horses when we say walked accredited we are approved we are going to the walk cycle right now we are being accredited at the school and thank you we are recently you may be familiar to some of you with hard at home if you're with that name and the post we've combined School sites and so now we're under one house called and again we we are all of the courses that a student would take in order to call iPhone 5 to a four-year University a state school horses are transferable and would be on the same courses that would be approved at a comprehensive site so attendance attendance is a little different at learning post Academy it's not and sometimes you take a seat you don't do any work and you're just there and you still get a tendon sometimes our school take monthly assignment sheets for attendance based on work completion it is I'm not just sitting in a classroom because he said everything anywhere no attendance award so are the questions it's very different and 100% of the work completed 5 credit less than 100% of the work I can get you and so sometimes we have students who for whatever reason they were smart because it's all online as a synchronous then they would receive partial credit course work and this is this is by the California Department of Education we are allowed independent citizens to complete their weekly. students who are in our program if you are a student teacher likes to wake up at 9 a.m. you're just not an early riser waking up at 6:30 and you like 69 yes you can start today if you're a student here August is awesome some of the students that we have are at our school site are committed and that you do their sports during the day and then in the app you make the schedule. Some students are working night and you do on certain days of the week can you create a schedule that works for you but it is recommended that you spend an hour a day for each course and said it's you're still committed are completing a full day of work at Aflac work and homework independent study student attendance is based on the percentage of school or completed find work not completed this important as attendance and so we definitely monitor the amount of work completed my learning program allows users to easily do that as well as parents do if you're a working parent and your child at home doing independent study work both the School site and parents can get a progress report completed so if so get independent study is asynchronous so it is online given units of instruction and and you want to play on the baseball team first but you do your school work on Independent Learning you can stay participate at the comprehensive campus for the classes and so could be baseball and for some students but you must take at least four classes we have a lot of stuff if you could still participate at the comprehensive is it for students to they might want a little bit of that socialisation or a little bit of the comprehensive campus some aspects of it but they're not quite ready for all of it you can put together at that are most appropriate for your child and so we're dual enrollment and we do offer the students you are an example and you can still act at the comprehensive site and we look at every night we make sure that we work directly with the case managers and Academy program participation in sports is one of the main reasons why a lot of the students will do dual enrollment on Kodi you can really make the program the program that works for your child and whether you're fully enrolled or you are comprehensive site that's what makes our program so you but again warmers so parents and students it's really important so in order to be a part of independent study the parents to attend meetings during the first week requirement you must be available that for the week of August 10th available for a sign to yard we have about 30 students and each time with you and he basically I'm giving you a really broad picture of you but that first week in August when you go to the meeting with a supervisor our partnership there's a master agreement to be signed during that first meeting and so you're agreeing that as a parent you're going to hold your child accountable to completing their course work independently because of an independent school checking on your child daily that will be your responsibility and it'll be your responsibility to make sure that they are they are a lot of the characteristics that are six independent studies students are being something motivated self-regulated know that they respond because they're online burning and so a lot of those skills if they're not quite there I like for Dunbar junior high students some of them have to learn it right through it but you know your child fast and you know that skills that I called academic independent study and as a parent if you are ready to help partner with us to take that on the beauty of it is learn all on their own credentials teachers do but as a parent in the beginning you're doing a little coaching you're helping them a lot of candy. writing teacher to work in partnership with that students will do a buy monthly meeting with their supervising teacher and that's wired they set up the time they can make an appointment on our website our teachers post their schedule and they join that meeting at that time and so they can now that we're coming back to campus they can do it in person or we can do it online they're going continue traveling and so they know that they're going to need or what if your child so we also have students a train from a medical issue with it is broken going through recovery for whatever medical reason and they want to sneaker program your own which is really great you can come and meet with your supervising teacher and Kristen and her credentials example of your teeth that is English credentials they will be able to help him with that reading and writing at the 80 level or even just the traditional 9th 10th 11th grade writing so you're not you're not feeling like you have to be pretty and so we have a math teacher teaching a mass schedule students they are really quick with the program they still connect to an hour a day but you can actually accelerate we have to graduate early for my program so they can please because they're moving so you can accelerate they don't care about that are ready to move on to college and so this program is an is incentivising for a lot of students who already just to get into the real world and so they can accelerate that's another option. Motivated again I talked about this a little bit this is a really important that I want to think about the characteristics of a successful LPS you're reading and writing informing that at or above grade because when you come in but you're you're doing it you should have the foundation so you can understand if your significant other student will be successful Jacaranda conversation sometime last year made a lot of students have we got it for whatever reason it didn't they weren't interested in the zoom room didn't work so we had a lot of students come to us and some of them just needed they needed to describe what they were doing for some students at the ability to take accountability academic Integrity on what your needs are with skills you need to improve upon because really it's an experience for not it's about their learning experience in Journey you said it was going to be able to take the initiative what's 9 p.m. Pizza in the beginning you know how to ask another teacher if they don't understand your question a unit of instruction to email the teacher with them so those are the examples or they might even email the office manager getting your transcripts or eat out you making sure that they filled out that college now application with their counselor so a lot of that is taking the initiative and then of course the students who are not successful I will tell you this they don't login daily there and they do my Tuesday might have the tendency thirst video games or they might be like them but they're not doing and so at that point I do want to make sure that you're communicating with the work let's talk about it so it's just. Having open lines of communication I don't know your schedule and you know what's best for you so as a parent or even a student you're going to create a schedule and presents for our family and for you as a as a family don't need to decide what what are your agreements with your child with when they're going to do their work how they're going to do their work and then you're you're you're you're really running fast on a consistent daily accountability help your child with coming up with the schedule if they need to but as a parent we need you I have open lines of communication with my parents we should have a communication and that your hours per day and you should know there's going to be characteristics I would see him in a Academy the dual enrollment this is a big selling Keith I would say of our program just really intense has a lot of feelings to be part of an independent study why don't you classes at the maximum of a student uses a sport for dual enrollment then they must take one other class on campus so sport is with a sport you and for seniors on the diplomas and graduation welcome to Learning Place Academy however if you're doing well if you can still participate in the graduation ceremony big graduation ceremony you can you can do that as a senior or we had a wonderful ceremony very small and insignificant 80 graduate Academy their degree in their their their diploma is just as valid and significant as a diploma or a school or what brand or Canyon they hold the same the same way it's because it will be fine by the board and again you can register pay tonight a ceremony or both is there any chance that you are required to follow rules and regulations there's a lot of access to resources if you're in our dual enrollment program so and don't breathe it we're going to get your question this presentation is pretty brave but we will get to the only interested in participating they think about it you have time the applications are due until June 30th now I will tell you don't wait until August 1st because we will fill up the capacity and you want to wait list but we don't want you to sign up just to sign up because his it is important that you sign up in time because there is some training involved the first two weeks of school you don't want to sign up after the semester I mean you can but it is that in your your child's or your s student you're playing chess and so want to make sure you register your application can be found at find the application. Dixon find out if you go back to the home page of our website absolutely I want to show them right there like touching it doesn't do any good in the center of the screen there the middle ribbon there's a there I just realized there's a difference between yep phone number question how to start a small we're so used to taking questions about things that might be a little confusing and so we're happy to answer any and we are going to take a look at the chat box you can unmute yourself and just ask away so I'm going to try to open up that chat and take a look at what we have available? stop sharing my screen here and take a look at what questions we have looks like we have lots of that alright I'm going to start at the top here and then if you if you want to jump in feel free if you have a specific question on your mind so here's a question if my attend if my child has friends online and talk about this can be participating yes that's an expectation another question I was wondering what school would be on the diploma the diploma and it does not affect college application for all colleges with plenty of students who go on to 4-year universities see if my if my student does beyond I'm going to just interrupt there a little bit cuz I got the question sometimes people ask about even scholarships for University we have in the past had several students get full ride scholarships last year went to Stanford and several back East we had kids get into Carnegie Mellon and several other prestigious schools we also last year had a West Point student so I know it comes up so we just like to put everybody's buying it either this gives them the ability to chat really take off I think a lot of students don't get that traditional mold the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. schedule does not work for them or sitting in a room comparing themselves to their peers when they want to accelerate or they want to march to their own drum beat this is a program that allows them to be out of the box and think learning in the way that best suits that in terms of timing and styling dual enrollment options thank you for bringing that mrs. Davis and I'm happy and that's not Big Lots of students receive scholarships this year and it will be a war. our graduation this Wednesday be here if I if my student does the online learning let's see can I still be part of the career path courses yes they can absolutely if there is a career pathway that highly in ask your students they can absolutely participate in that it at their at their school someone had asked if they are at the high school can they joined during the school year The Way We Were to that is yes but it kind of depends on timing and we want to make it the best and successful transition for a student so in the case of Junior High we would tend to will take kids the first Sue may be pushing even three weeks of a school year and then we'd ask them to hold off until quarter to the start of quarter 2 and the case of Junior I we can do the same with high school but we would into recommend waiting until the next semester but we can do it it's it's we will lay out all the the struggles that you'll have ahead of yourself coming in Midstream and what I mean by that is the course curriculum at the high school is based on a textbook that's going through it in a certain way and ours is based on apex online learning which is the same Keurig Olympic going through it and its own certain manners so when a student comes over is 6 weeks into the semester what they've covered in the classroom may be very different than what we've covered so far in our first six weeks so that position can be difficult but some kids are up for it and they do just fine others when they hear all those options they start to go maybe I'll wait we have another question about where to find her so if you if you haven't been involved in the August you're home so you're probably going to stay with me so I guess high school and we can we can help with that if you're not another question and then horse work to request school counselor meeting with subject available so what are counselor does and I'll I'll share my screen again and Edmondson is a great resource she's in contact with all of the counselors throughout the entire force that we offer and so will we do it I forgot the forces that we do have available and we would share that information with you or even on our website your school profile page I'm sure Julian Edmondson is her academic counselor and she can answer questions about horses will get a lot of questions about the dual enrollment what are my options there like somebody asked me when the MS program at Valencia can they continue in that same with bikes DTE we also have student center involved in ROTC Junior ROTC and any of that is very doable just keeping in mind that they the student needs to have at least four classes with Arnie post and if they want to take they could take one class at their homes School of Saugus High School and they could have won class with Junior ROTC which generally means that either Valencia are Golden Valley so there's variety there once kids get older sometimes they instead of taking the the jewel drama class at there Ransom school site High School site that you were over at COC that becomes very popular and that's something that I talked to parents about a lot with regard to COC when is the Chevrolet damages that art students have with dual enrollment at College of the Canyons is the flexibility of time so all students starting at after their sophomore year all high school students are eligible to take classes at COC so if you're go to Valencia are Golden Valley or anywhere as soon as you finish 10th grade you are eligible to take classes at CLC starting that summer and tuition is free a lot of kids do that but what they find is it because they have to be at Golden Valley 8 to 3 they're only can take the classes at COC you know somewhere from 4 and now they're competing with all the other Heist High School is it one of those classes and all the other people that work during the day and want those evening classes so independent study you've got that flexibility of time and they see a class on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and they go oh yeah I could take that one suddenly now at even though they're the last ones to get to register for classes as a high school student they got into the costumes they wanted because of that flexibility of time so I'm just a crap I just parked in the meeting we are presenting new information but will answer question so if you have to run a really great question what is important to be at or not to be El Paso so in the your background so if there's any other information gather there as well as your car so we look at your current academic behaviors as well as your current performance and then what I might do for example and you might have a little bit of History I might call you and say hey tell me a little bit about this and sometimes there are storage is left already something's are not quite ready to go back and so independent study and so I'm in terms of being a good fit or not a good fit we really look at the whole pile so we look at your behavior and academics if you're if you're performing at the Great Raid without so we we just know that there's stories that to every child's background but I will say is keep your child receive eyelash last year they are really a credit this may not be the best fit because they won't have the academic to even I would say we need to start with some something more I'm done said and it might be more intervention to support at the comprehensive officer severely credit Edition this wouldn't be a good fit but I I would say let me look at your application let me take a look at what your impact what story is in you could even say application call me I want to talk to you and we're very fair and understanding and comprehensive site that they came here talk to you about we had we had a few questions out there regarding students with IEPs the best dancer on that is yes we do have students here enrolled at learning post with IEPs a lot of times when it comes down do is if they can handle gen Ed Course material and for those of you who don't have IEPs bear with a certificate of but if your student is in basic level classes then we're not going to be able to provide that same level of course work however sometimes we have kids that are in a basic level class for just one won out of the six classes of the basic level class and that's where Joel and Gromit can come in real Handy that they can maybe stay in their basic math class at Olympia High School and take all their other gen Ed classes with us if you have a knife IP 105 certainly do so and as you'll see on the website include your IP with your application and will it can meet as a team also with your current IP team figure out if it's a good fit for you this is a great question David sent this one here it was about being enrolled at high school so can you do involves a comprehensive and we have a lot of kids to do that I've been asked for many years will what kind of class what did kids take for dual enrollment and I skip oh my gosh it's going to be the exact same class for but for opposite reason some kids say oh I would have to be in my math class everyday getting that daily instruction from a teacher or otherwise I just don't get it other kids would say I would have to keep that class d-2 opposite reasons but they both want the math class A lot of choices are for classes we don't offer a doctor if I'm brought that up with the beginning we don't offer an independent study marine biology but they do have a great marine biology course at a lot of our high schools so kids really work going to take that and so that's why they chose that others it has to do with a lot of electives like Ceramics we don't offer putting your hands and clay for independent study and have a potter's wheel on the whole bed though some just want those elective opportunities say what theater theaters are great example of an marching band and colorguard and things like that this is a great question so if I'm if I'm a this is for Ashley Carter they're all online for independent study exception because of covid and distance learning players finally got they have dual enrollment but in general under normal circumstances no school the block schedule School equestrian you would go if you have to go every other day I'm going to sign your classes every day you have to be there at that time for that one moment class that is tricky part that you like the flexibility of independent study commitment time frame then concrete than doing all that might not work for you is IPA All Grain Lactaid like coding a computer programming at the present time no we do not and again that's where the beauty of the dual enrollment comes into play after your conference site handles that or if there's something through the district's CPE Career Technical Ed program that can be another source for picking up Pathways that you're very interested in or if you're after 10th grade even through COC a lot of parents it'll edit COC would be the same as any dual enrollment class if you have the ability to have time to devote to a classroom whether it be Monday through Friday or Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours each or whatever if you have that flexibility in your schedule to have seat time and the class then you probably could handle dual if you're interested in it if you're traveling a lot or out of the satellite or competing a lot Jewel enrollment might not work for you but it might work one semester and not the other we have that happen a lot too kids are very busy in the fall season with their sport but they the spring opens up and so that's when they take their dual enrollment classes so there's that flexibility is hard to get accepted what I would say is we're looking for the student that is the right fit for her in my heart of hearts I am an educator and I want every child to be successful take them out by school and then see them fail I don't break my heart I don't want anyone to like be set up for failure that is not my job at as an educator I want you to set up for Success so I'll look at your background and we will work together to see if it's a good conversation at the heart to heart if you're not a good fit or it's a conversation if there's some pieces that might not look like it so really is it needs me when your child is academically motivated they may not have exactly. we'll look at the whole all of the criteria and make sure really that's a big indicator my work and you're going to have to attend. popularity of writing so that they do travel a lot with sports again the dual enrollment if you're not going to be around for the seat time at the dual enrollment campus and it might not be for you while you're competing but it might work out in your schedule at a different semester the stuff you were saying how does that work well if you've got I guess a laptop and Wi-Fi wherever you go then you're going to be able to handle getting courses done we've had olympic-level students here before for gymnastic and they do a lot of training but they also have a lot of down time sometimes between meats and such and they've got their computer their and they're getting their school work done question so your child can take PE and it's a lot and then you also give me a call. you will be in charge of signing off on a test for example if it's a mess and so similar to eat at your PE like you would tell us what your girls doing and then you would sign off on it and submit it so we trust the parents house or partner here in holding the child account of all the child high school students you would be accountable through your parents signature and if we don't offer French class at Learning Place Academy students on the question. second language is it required from learning post it is not a requirement because we are part of the William S Hart school district and it is like foreign language is not a requirement for a school district whatever if you want to be a through G which is a college term for college application submission and such if you want to have your a through G courses all in a row for that University application then yes foreign language is going to be a requirement for you having an academic counselor to help work through your plan for you know what's my plan was my plan for After High School and what do I want to achieve they can make sure you're in the right classes or not in unnecessary class we have that happen a lot too when kids over here they very much have been on an A through G path and they they tell us this is not what I wanted I didn't want to be I have this is what I'm doing after high school and it's not going to the university and they know for a fact they are not going off to a university and then we can switch things around and say all right let's get this high school you know grad plan going in a different direction far as what classes you need to be we have we have two really good question I would say it's a student's individual we have a case manager at Academy VIP with me and we make sure that we talk to them it's a conversation I'm just to make sure that a good fit for your child for you at the student and so as a benefit this is a great question how will it benefit students every student is as unique and their story and an individual we don't we don't tell you which classes you have to take working with her brother sign it at 91st Academy we're very small operation and so we work in Partnership I think they will tell you that is off to a rocky start when they coming back we work as a team we all gather around and meet together and we support them through this because it's very different everyday at the end of the week if they can't get ahold of your child you'll hear from me and I'll okay let's let's see what's going on there's a lots of accountability that we can put in place if we notice a child struggling with the program but again you know I don't that's why I say take home all of this information talk it over with your child make sure this is the right fit for them and for your family and your student wants to be a positive experience we also have a SD card for students who want to socialize with anybody can join there are opportunities to socialize and we are starting to whine down it is nearly seven is it just a couple of quick questions and I wanted to respond to of course now one of them is going to skip my brain but when is asking will there be online or Blended since other than LPA for the district at the present time the district and correct me if I'm wrong. I'm at the present time the district is gearing up with the great hope anticipation of opening up next school year full back to normal everyday Monday through Friday 8 to 3 and kids back to school if some reason I obviously learning post existed and opened in 1980 so it existed long before covid and pandemics are students were the least affected by the pendant because they're likely was already what I do I work from home but the district is planning to be back full dorm old assuming that is the case they are looking to learning post do the answer for any students who are not prepared to be back on campus fulltime for whatever those reasons may be so at the present time yes learning post is the only option in the in our school district for independent study online learning what could happen between now and August 1st is as we've also as an unknown but there was one other question that I see if I can find it real quick they'll be moving out of state late later in the year at this time we would leave you and we would have a I would say call office returning that timeline and the circumstances we had a lot of different stories come through again and then we never we never just cut his students to be able to take register for any program and I will share with you that is open right now I'm inside so that is all possible with out-of-state I think it'll become really difficult travel around the country but their parents are located here and me a professional dancer is okay story that I saw out there was somebody asked how many students do you have up until this past semester where we we opened up for more students we typically had an enrollment of somewhere around 200 and many students so I always would remind people that it's a great option for you to have really kind of a private school experience in a lot of ways I'm very small numbers with the teachers really get to know the kids very well and everyone in the campus does this past semester we were up we were about a hundred more than that so we were around 370 because of people choosing to not tonight can you the distance learning thing you're more interested there's to Anna I'm going to have you in my life and just a little bit cuz I see a lot of questions. What are the main differences between this program and stay home school so I would say at home and I have friends to home-school their children and I know that they're one of the things they will say is that will they have access to a credentialed teacher credentialing speakers that are I want to go back to I want to be part of the greater population it's really easy for different but our teachers they're supporting him with the same type of wood in the same pot Evanescence take your homeschool Network being our dessert we have a lot more resources for the entire Valley Wellness services or even through that process is a lot of the charter schools in Phoenix Eminem are our local I would just say that they from what I know and I don't want to speak on behalf of some of them are slowly remove you danced our goal is to help them get some of the Turner's I know that she sings a little a little different than our and we have to take classes at a time and sometimes that works for student I don't have anything negative to say all I would say is that would be one of them and then again just ask and then yes you are assigned to work when supervising teacher courses they have a different teacher for every single one of those courses now we do have a program for students who are more at risk and they are assigned one when featuring and they just need a little bit more support and so we have a call program dedicated two of her students would qualify for that and again we would partner with you and if you have questions I want you to talk to me my first question is I have a a child who has done really well this year she wanted to homeschool before pandemic hit and Mom said heck no you need to call social but I'll when she got her wish she's really excelled at it is a self-motivated but I have enjoyed as a parent the ability to look on what the school has is like the parent portal or the student campus is there a way for parents to access what's going on with kids grades along the way yes very much so with Apex we have every parent's set up as a what Apex calls at coach on every student's account and every Sunday afternoon evening the parent every week the parent receives their coaching report from Apex now if your kids doing great you might only look at the summary part of that coach report and you just see that how kids doing great you know everything is on but if you want to see the detail then you just click on each subject and boom it takes you out and you can see exactly where your student as bad as far as number of which assignments they're behind in what grade they got on specific assignment one of these I don't know that we mentioned that and keep you were wondering how Apex works one of the beauties of it is literally on day one when you open up your English class you see every single assignment task quiz test that is going to be required of you for the duration of that course and associated with it is every single due date so you know exactly where you're supposed to be and when and what should have been accomplished and by win so if you do have something coming up where are you know you're going to be very busy or not available there's no why you can't work ahead in your course work so that you know you freed up that week of November or you know 12th to have more time for whatever is going on in your life than work at those assignments done as Doctor mentioned earlier attendance at with independent study in the state of California is work assigned versus work completed because I have four is that okay so say she goes through this year I would I would ask my child to stick with it through the year she will be a junior this coming school year I know that a lot of festivities and end-of-year things happened for seniors if she were to decide that she wanted to go back to school she would end up being a graduate receiving a Valencia high diploma at that point but have done a year if she just does one year are with learning post and then transfers back to have her primary enrollment with Valencia and there she would be doing everything at Valencia I don't know if how many of you have seen our really looked at your transcripts in the Williamette start school district but all of our schools issue the same exact type of transcript in that it'll say at the top William S hearts Union High School District and then it lists all the courses a student has taken by school so if a student started out at Valencia High School and did freshman year there you're going to see Belen yeah you going to see the year that they were there in the courses they took let's say the family moved across town and the sophomore year then was at Golden Valley you would see a ribbon that says a header that says Golden Valley and the courses they took their if then they come to us for their junior year and the key learning post Academy the courses they took it learning post and then it light in your scenario if they went back to Valencia for whatever reason for their senior year so all of its listed their Cube what's a blight on our district transcripts my next question would be if my child was taking the four classes through learning post Academy and decided to take some Valencia physical campus her timing of when she would go to school is at the discretion of when the school puts her in whatever bought correct we Went into but as with everything it's you know first come first serve and how classes get build the other one is Caitlin is enrolled in the CCR program so she has next year would be her final year when you said four horses through learning post right now she taking seven courses so would she be able to do say she wanted to do two on campus for something say next year we signed up for classes picked already you know it hasn't been finalized but she's picked I think was culinary and American Sign Language something like that so if she were to go there physically to take those she could still do the CCR class and have seven classes and take the four yes okay how do we know if when we are looking at the high school physical location of what our child need to graduate like you said the a through G courses how will we know if they will meet those requirements by selecting classes from learning post Academy if there's some dual enrollment that kind of gets kind of I would think is the parent trying to figure it out it that way for the counselor Miss Edmondson your academic counselor works out that graduation plan with you. Academic plan for graduation and they'll make sure you're getting the right number of years of English the right number of years of math and the type of math you need to pending on what type of University you're planning to apply for and what you want to be doing in that University and the same would be true with language the science biological science physical science they get that all mapped out for you and no story and your motivation and your are your students goals in NFL and it might change and that's okay too but I like mrs. I like that you've mentioned we're really small but if your student wants to become the leader of our small school and they came up with this awesome idea and personalities suited for the right personality and then but it was a student can happen if you want to take on a leadership role and put on your resume I'm going to help with that so I think that's really cool I think you think one or two more questions my question would be learning post Academy is is all going to be everything online I won't be any materials that they would need on the side or would there be I was going to say they need a computer and they need Wi-Fi that is part of a on our application those things are mentioned to be able to support the student occasionally there are some novels that's like for the English classes and depending on some of the AP courses there might be some additional I don't want to use the word textbooks but curriculum that they have side of Apex some of it we have and we Supply some of it the students just prefer to go off and get it themselves but we work with you on all of that and to reinforce the writing because some of the Apex curriculum the English teachers their subject matter specialist they will ask for essays and so this is important skill set in I'm a former agent I think you answered all my questions I have please ask away all your questions are good question because really you're committing to spend that you're with us please but you're committing to spend time with me to ask your students can come on campus to make an appointment with your teacher if they need if he needs support person can meet with the math teacher but I am not a little bit everybody was understanding for each of the subjects you have is Doctor find said you have your subject matter teacher so you've got a math teacher an English teacher a science teacher for all your various classes one of those teachers then additionally takes on the role of being your supervising teacher and that person is in charge just a few extra if you want to call it paperwork type thing but they're the ones that are in charge of meeting with twice a month minimum price of months to check in and make sure everything's on pass cuz it should be that's the one who's going to be responsible as far as the state of California is concerned of inputting your attendance for the student something like that so it ministrator type items is what the supervising teacher does but as far as learning and assignments and needing help with extra extra help in math or do your Chemistry or whatever it is the students are going to turn to the actual subject matter teacher and that's who will so they may come on campus and have four appointments that day you know one with the math teacher one with biology teacher and yeah one with the English teacher or whatever the case may be at one with the Spanish teacher something so they would meet with all their individual teachers whenever they want so we are going you start wrapping up here yes and we do offer the tutoring at the intervention but one of the parents of the children is that one-on-one teacher or with any of the subject matter available you can email the site I'm I'm coming to campus you can come right to be as engaged or attract why are is a little alright it's it's it's up to the personality of the student so we aren't we're coming to the conclusion because it means that you're really thinking about I haven't looked at the website yet which the information might be there but I didn't hear it said this evening so we fill out the application for student when do we find out that their enrollment is accepted when you submit it and I would tell you all I have graduation on Wednesday I have to recover if you were to be submitting an application before the end of the school year you will likely have an answer by June 15th from us cuz we want to get on the on to those applications and responding to families as quick as possible if you cement and an application probably anywhere from June 15th through the end of June you like other will be hearing back from us sometime towards the beginning of July to get a class schedule please don't please don't wait if you're interested though I would say we lost the last I know this because we will have a lot of families and just said it might need like I said I have to wait and you respond back that are applications did we would move forward from there and picking her classes then correct and know that pretty quickly yes you would know it pretty quickly just so you know the actual transfer process enrollment transfer process is very easy and it gets done via email we respond back to you R Us learning post as a team will have gone through your application so it would have been reviewed it would have been gone through by the I'm counselor as well and based on looking at transcripts and so on so when you get a response from us about enrollment it's basically going to be confirming enroll are offer of enrollment and it's going to have some instructions in there but it's also going to include what our counselor has suggesting for a date on the way you've answered the questions on the application and it's going to have a class schedule set up there is suggested one sometimes it just says elective and sometimes it might just say our Fine Art and they'll specifically say our counselor will be reaching out to you to help to fight those elective classes something like that and as soon as that email goes out she generally responds right away back to you with here's a list of our electives let me know which ones you're interested in type of thing on the next thing we also do is we send an email is the other school so your conference of school that you're coming from or would have been enrolling in in the case of like an incoming 7th grader maybe you were slated to go to Arroyo Seco so weird letting Arroyo Seco know that the students is now going to be coming to learning post instead but maybe they're going to be coming to learning post full-time but keeping dual enrollment and they want to take one or two classes the Rio Seco so we're weak immune this all through email we keep you guys cc'd on those emails with the other school and it's pretty seamless a few emails thank you we just want to help make sure that your child finds their bites right and that you as a parent the more you know about our program we want to help me share so if there are more questions this is David thing is box so we have graduation on Wednesday for a little bit occupied with that but I can tell you when Thursday hits will be available to help with anyone has questions about maybe even like at the very latest our teachers as they were pretty quick about questions or concerns let's see hang out and dual-enrollment looks like you want to take that wine what did ask what it was to be us go and athletes as with whether there are enrolled at learning post is their primary school or at once the high school is their primary school they have to have a GPA eligibility that's important but it's the athlete is the dual enrollment there is no different than if it was Ceramics and art you know and they have their dual enrollment saying I'm going to be on the baseball team and I've made the baseball team and my other class I'm choosing is whatever they want often times they choose that are the cost to be late in the day so that they go on campus maybe like right after lunch time they have good afternoon cos and then they meet up with the sports team for the sporting event and it's pretty much as simple as that a lot of doctors appointments and this is a really good fit for the school and I love all the stories the journey that you you're on and then you know we just want to support you as your it's always really fun to me I figure out how we can support you getting a high school diploma or what
